The Central Indo-Pacific comprises the tropical waters of the western Pacific Ocean, the eastern Indian Ocean and connecting seas. It is home to the widest diversity of seagrass species, with approximately 20 seagrass species calling the Central Indo-Pacific home. Intertidal meadows comprise of species including Halodule uninervis, Halophila ovalis, Cymodocea rotundata, and Thalassia hemprichii. Subtidal meadow species include Cymodocea serrulata, Thalassodendron ciliatum, Enhalus acoroides, and Syringodium isoetifolium.
