The Seagrass Ecosystem Services Project seeks to build capacity across the Indo-Pacific to identify the ecosystem services provided by seagrass meadows here and support seagrass conservation.
Through this work we’ve supported National Partners by training and guiding them in socio-economic surveys, with a focus on the role of seagrass meadows in supporting biodiversity and livelihoods.
We trained partners in how to conduct seagrass associated biodiversity assessments by using Baited Remote Underwater Video (BRUV), seagrass monitoring assessments and participation in seagrass citizen science programmes such as SeagrassSpotter.
We also provide support and guidance with analysing the data collected and support the production of key project reports and documents, generated by the National Partners.
Through this project we engaged partners, stakeholders, governments and communities in seagrass research and conservation across project sites in Southeast Asia.
We are continuing to support the production of IKI project outputs, building international capacity and are committed to continuing to work with partners on future international seagrass conservation projects.

If you would like to be involved in this project you can help support by uploading images from across the world onto SeagrassSpotter and following the partners on social media to stay up to date and support their activities.
