Laura joined the Stakeholder Engagement team at Project Seagrass in 2026 as a Science Officer, marking an exciting new chapter for the team as it expands its use of social science research to inform engagement work. Originally from Suffolk, Laura completed a BSc in Marine Science at the University of East Anglia, where she developed strong research and analytical skills. During her studies, she also cultivated a keen interest in sustainable fisheries and consumer behaviour through a research project with CSERGE.
Passionate about collaboration and science communication, Laura is particularly interested in exploring how we can foster Ocean stewardship and strengthen people’s connections with the marine environment. She believes that science should be engaging, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of their background or experience.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys travelling and has solo-travelled across more than six countries in Asia and Oceania since graduating in 2025. She is also an enthusiastic camper, wild swimmer, and sports lover. Through her work and personal interests, Laura hopes to inspire more people to connect with nature, spend time outdoors, and become invested in the future of our marine habitats.
